Welcome to Preetam Ghosh's home page !

I have taken up a post-doctoral database analyst position at UT Southwestern Medical Center where I am working on pathways/network related projects under the guidance of Dr. Richard Scheuermann in the Bioinformatics Lab. In particular, I am presently working on 1) developing a graph theoretic algorithm (based on the edge betweenness property) to identify functional modules in protein interaction networks 2) developing a discrete event based simulation framework to model influenza viral pathway and study its host-pathogen dynamics 3) Incorporating the Francisella Tularensis and Mycobacterium Tuberculosis pathways from the BioCyc database into the BioHealthBase database as a part of the NIH funded BRC project. I can be reached at preetam.ghosh@utsouthwestern.edu

I completed my PhD from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Texas at Arlington(UTA) in Fall 2007. My doctoral dissertation was in the area of Systems Biology under the supervision of Professors Sajal K. Das and Kalyan Basu. I have a B.E. in Computer Science & Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India and 2 years of work experience in telecommunications and embedded systems. I joined the CReWMaN Lab from Fall, 2002 where I completed my MS in the area of optical networks in Summer 2004.
